Grade 3 distilled water is a laboratory specialty water. It is also known as RO water. This water is produced through the latest purification technology Reverse Osmosis. Of all the pure water types it has the lowest level of purity but is typically the starting point for basic lab applications, such as cleaning sensitive instruments, glassware, plasticware, chemical vessels, heating baths, or media preparation.

Distill water is water that has been purified using a method called distillation, in which pure H2O is Reverse Osmosis and ions exchange which is these anions (-) and cations (+) and ree any hazards, then condensing the pure distilled water turns into a liquid in a different container. According to guidelines of ASTM, grade 3 distilled water contain no more than the following maximum contaminant levels:

- Conductivity at 25°C < 5.0 [uS/cm]
- pH at 25°C ≅ 5.0 – 8.0
- Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) < 2 mg/L
- Total Hardness: <2 mg/L
- Oxidizable matter Oxygen content (mg/l) < 0.4
- Change in Condition: Melting point/Melting range: 0°C (32°F) & Boiling point/Boiling range: 100°C (212°F)
